That empty microphone stand and the jagged blue-diamond backdrop are unmistakably Rick Astley's, ripped straight from the "Never Gonna Give You Up" video set. The joke writes itself: the singer's gone, but the promise he's famous for still hangs in the air like an unfinished Rickroll.
Use this one whenever someone's about to get emotionally abandoned, ghosted, or bait-and-switched. It's the quiet-before-the-punchline template — perfect for setting up a letdown, a broken promise, or any moment where you expected commitment and got dead air instead. Caption it, share it, and let the void do the talking.
He never gonna give you up · He also never gonna show up
Promised he'd never desert you · Left the stage before the chorus
Said you'd never see him cry · Also never saw him again
