About the Cute Then Ugly Dog meme template
This four-panel classic starts sweet: someone coos over what looks like an adorable little dog. Then panel two zooms in on its face and, well, it's a nightmare. The stick-figure person's deadpan 'oh no' reaction sells the whole flip.
It's the perfect bait-and-switch format for anything that seems great from a distance and falls apart on closer inspection — a Tinder profile, a 'great deal' online, a recipe photo versus the real thing. The zoom-in is the punchline generator; you just need the setup.
