About the Ecce Homo Botched Restoration meme template
One side is a faded but dignified 19th-century fresco of Christ. The other side is what happens when a church volunteer decides she can fix it herself with craft paint and zero art training. The result became internationally famous as 'Monkey Christ,' and it is still one of the funniest true stories in art history.
This is the ultimate template for any before/after disaster — a good intention that went catastrophically wrong. DIY projects, home haircuts, group projects, first drafts versus final drafts, it all fits.
