About the Lion I Was There meme template
That close-up of a majestic, weathered lion staring dead into the camera has become shorthand for claiming you've got ancient, unimpeachable authority on something. Slap 'I was there when it was written' under it and suddenly you're the sage who witnessed history, scripture, or the origin of an inside joke firsthand.
It works because the lion's expression is so calm and knowing — like it's seen empires rise and fall and simply isn't impressed by your take. Use it to flex old-guard status in a fandom, mock someone quoting a rule out of context, or just to be dramatic about how long you've been doing something. Customize the text and download it free.
