About the But It Might Work For Us meme template
Tobias and Lindsay Funke, deep in denial as usual, having the most self-aware conversation about self-delusion ever put on TV. She asks if the thing ever actually works for anyone, he admits no, and then pivots straight into 'but it might work for us' anyway.
This is the template for any plan you know is doomed but are doing anyway — diets, get-rich-quick schemes, situationships, that one coworker's 'process improvement.' Swap the top and bottom lines for whatever cursed idea you're personally delusional about right now.
